Palma Airport – Son Sant Joan

Palma de Mallorca (Son Sant Joan) Airport is located eight kilometres east of Palma, adjacent to the village of Can Pastilla.

Roc Linda

Located in C’An Pastilla, is a reasonable choice when it comes to aircraft spotting.

Having requested room 528, this was not available for me to use, so I was given a room  on the first floor. Departures from 24R could be seen, but it was not ideal.

I therefore went back downstairs to have a chat with the manager, to explain my plight & the fact that a request that had been made some time before.

The next morning I was given a room change to room 521. In hindsight, 528 would be better, being that it was located on the end of the corridor & allows views across both runways.

All other rooms, including 521, only have views of movements on 06L/24R, although if you walk to the windows by the lifts you can see movements on 06R/24L.

The trees have grown considerably since my last visit two years ago & views are more limited. Only a small fraction of the biz parking area is now visible.

Breakfast is passable, being more of a continental theme instead of typical British fair, that many of us are used to.

If you use an SBS & the battery on your laptop doesn’t last for long, as mine doesn’t, I would suggest taking an extension lead should you want to spend your time on the balcony. Power points in the room are not near the door & the average computer cable will not reach!
